New DVD Breaks Down Timeouts For Toddlers & Tots

PASADENA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Anyone with a toddler or pre-schooler knows that kids can make their parents want a timeout from parenting.

That’s why Ann Brazil, a mother in Pasadena, California, is offering what she believes is timely advice in the form of a new instructional DVD for children called Timeout Tot.

It’s designed to teach kids ages 3-5 about the value of “timeouts,” and Brazil says that’s crucial since many parents “misuse, abuse or overuse” the timeout concept.

In Brazil’s words, “Make sure you don’t forget your kids while they’re on timeout, of course. But also, don’t overuse timeouts, because going there too often ruins effectiveness. And lastly, make sure you discuss the problem with the child before they’re off timeout.”

According to Brazil, kids ages 3-5 don’t necessarily misbehave on purpose, so it’s important to use timeouts as teachable moments as well as discipline.
