Buckcherry’s Hilton Ditty More Hip Hop Than Hard Rock?

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – With a title like “Crazy Bitch,” it’s easy to understand why the song by the Hollywood hard rock band Buckcherry ain’t for the kiddies.

But band guitarist, Keith Nelson – who co-wrote the song with frontman Josh Todd – says the saucy lyrics to the song were inspired by Paris Hilton’s sex video and actually smack more of gangster rap than heavy metal’s groupie-groping stereotype.

As Nelson puts it, “The [style of the] song may sound like a throwback to Guns ’N‘ Roses, but to me it sounds more like a rap tribute in its attitude.”

With lines like, “Take it off, the paper is your game/ You jump in bed with fame” the song’s lyrics do show off singer Todd’s flair for internal-rhyming style, but Nelson says it’s also a fun song to play.

“We’ve never wanted to take ourselves TOO seriously,” admits Nelson, who adds, “‘Crazy Bitch”’ is certainly proof of that.”

“Crazy Bitch” appears on Buckcherry’s newest album, Fifteen, which hits stores April 11.
