‘Lost In Space’ Robot Immortalized In Giant Pez Dispenser

STAMFORD, Conn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Here’s a sweet artifact for that Lost In Space fan in your life: A foot- long Pez dispenser shaped like Robby the Robot.

The Eighth Annual Pez Collectors Gathering starts tomorrow (Mar. 30) in Stamford, Connecticut.

Organizer Richie Belyski says the robot Pez dispenser is one of the prizes going up for auction at a charity benefit on Friday (Mar. 31).

Belyski says the “Pezbot” recites catchphrases recorded by actor Bob May, who did Robby’s voice on the show, and it’s the brainchild of Bill Mumy, who played Will Robinson on the Sci-Fi classic.

It seems Mumy is an avid Pez collector and helped make the giant candy dispenser a reality.

The prize Pez dispenser has an estimated worth of $500.

Although the “Pezbot” should be the talk of the Pez party, Belyeski says fans of the candy dispensers will also play Pez bingo, a costume contest, and enjoy something called a “Pez-ini,” a food-colored martini.
