Women Cleaning Up Their Act But Not Their Makeup Bags

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – March 20 marks the first day of Spring, and while a whopping majority of women will clean out their closets, few will clean out their makeup bags.

That’s according to a new spring cleaning survey from Q- tips which found 80 percent of gals will clean out closets and 79 percent will clean the funk out of their fridge, but only 34 percent will dump out their makeup bags.

That may not sound like a big deal, but it’s eye popping news because dermatologists say filthy cosmetic brushes are filled with germs and bacteria that can lead to infection, allergic reaction or even acne.

When asked how old their makeup brush was, nine percent of women said over nine years old; six percent said three to five years old; and 21 percent said one to two years old. The rest were less than a year.
