‘King’s Ransom’: Year’s Worst Reviewed Movie

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – No one knows which film will be chosen as Best Picture on Oscar night (Mar. 5) but Boxoffice magazine has an idea which was the worst.

According to the trade magazine’s annual barometer – which averages the critical response to all the films released each year – the worst major film of 2005 was King’s Ransom, a comedy featuring Anthony Anderson and Jay Mohr about a businessman who fakes his own kidnapping.

On a four star rating system, the comedy received exactly one star.

Meanwhile, Alone In The Dark earned an average of 1.2 stars, while Son Of The Mask and Underclassmen walked away with 1.3 stars.

By the way, the Spanish-language euthanasia drama, The Sea Inside, was the year’s best reviewed film, averaging 4.1 stars on a four star system.
