British TV Show Scaring Up Ghost Busting Idol

NEWCASTLE, England (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You’ve heard of American Idol, but now a British man is trying to do the same thing with ghost busters, not singers.

Supernatural investigator Dean Maynard is not looking to bust myths, but ghosts with his new reality television show Ghost Idol.

The show is ”a very tongue and cheek version” of American Idol, and he’s holding auditions for the most qualified ghost hunters in the world on March 17 at the haunted Castle Keep in Newcastle.

Three would-be spook hunters will then join Maynard’s ghost squad and visit England’s most haunted sites in search of various apparitions.

Maynard calls himself a “skeptical believer in ghosts” and says, ”One or two things have happened to me I can’t explain, but I have no proof that ghosts exist.”

Like American Idol, the show will feature three judges, and Maynard sees himself as the nasty Simon Cowell character.

Consequently, he warns potential applicants not to be scaredy cats.
