Sea Coral Implants Good For Your Face, But Not Your Bum

PHILADELPHIA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A Philadelphia plastic surgeon is using coral from the South Pacific to enhance the faces of many of his patients. Just don’t ask him to put the coral down south.

Dr. Harvey M. Rosen says he likes using coral to make the cheeks more prominent or to enhance the chin because the material can be inserted through the mouth – meaning there are no external scars – and even better, “It becomes a living part of the facial skeleton.”

That means the risk of rejection or infection is reduced and if there is any sort of infection, it can be cleared up with antibiotics.

While the coral is great for the facial area, he says it’s not ideal for patients desiring a fuller, J-Lo style bum.

In his words, “I’ve never heard of it being done. You’d have to add such a volume of material. You can’t put that through the mouth!”
