Massachusetts-based designer Johnny Cupcakes says he submitted design samples including a jet releasing four cupcake bombs to the chain store Urban Outfitters about two years ago, but decided against having his clothing in the store.
He says his samples were never returned, and just this week, a friend noticed some new T-shirts bearing Cupcakes jet and signature cakes with Urban Renewal tags inside.
The designer says, Theres absolutely no way this is a coincidence noting that the shirt features the same jet and the same amount of cupcakes.
He was even more surprised when he Googled Urban Outfitters and Infringement and found hundreds of similar cases of designers who were ripped off by the chain.
Cupcakes says, All I can do is try and spread the word in hopes that Urban Outfitters will stop screwing around with younger designers.
