A new study shows that preferences for silver-colored cars are dwindling, but still have a foot-hold in the auto market.
The information gathered by DuPont Automotives 2005 Color Popularity Report reveals that after six years of being the top vehicle color, silver is giving way to gray, which saw a five percent gain in 2005.
White and white pearl is the second-most popular color choice in the U.S., while Europeans prefer black.
Gray is the third-most popular choice in America and Europe now, while yellow and gold rank the lowest.
