Physicians Offer Slackers Cliff Notes To A Healthy Life

VANCOUVER, B.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you don’t have time to see a doctor and you barely have time to read a book about how to get healthy, two docs think they have the perfect prescription for you.

It’s a book called Energize Your Life: A Three-Week Plan to Change the Way You Look, Feel and Live (Bindu Publishing), and Dr. Peter Bennett – a naturopathic physician who co-authored the book with Dr. Stephen Barrie – says it’s perfect for people who are “overworked and have too many responsibilities.”

He insists the book does not have to be read cover to cover and that instead, readers can focus on two-page spreads on topics like getting more sleep and drinking more wine.

But not all the recommendations are as sweet. The docs think people should try to eliminate sugar because our bodies weren’t made for it, and Bennett goes so far as to say, “Most of our culture is stoned on sugar...the baby boomers are going to go down hard.”

On the positive side, Bennett insists the program is “simple and easy,” and for those afraid of failure, there’s always the “one in ten rule.”

In his words, “Follow the instructions 90 percent of the time.”
