Racial Understanding Not All Black And White

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A new poll suggests that the underlying causes of racial tension aren’t black and white. Age plays a role as well.

According to the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, 25 percent of Americans under the age of 44 are convinced government officials should increase the number of legal immigrants allowed in America compared to only 10 percent of senior citizens.

In addition, 65 percent of people under 34 believe Americans need to socialize more with folks from other ethnic groups compared to 39 percent of the oldsters.

Also, 60 percent of the young’uns are convinced that Hip Hop culture will unite all the races but only 23 percent of seniors will hop on that belief.

There are some things that old people and the young can agree on: About 40 percent do rate the state of race relations in the U.S. as “bad” or “very bad.”
