However, because many U.S. schools restrict students from wearing ball caps to school, they may be getting themselves into trouble, but for a good cause.
Crystal Howard, a spokeswoman for one of the events partners, says schools have to participate in the day because, We assume most kids arent allowed to wear caps to school.
Although, she says, Wed love it if it were a national day.
Howard says roughly 30 schools were contacted about the day, and estimates about 35,000 students U.S.-wide will don caps on Monday.
