Put A Lid On It Monday (Oct. 3) For Pediatric Cancer

DERBY, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Organizers of an event called “Wear Your Cap to School Day” are asking school kids to put a lid on it on Monday (Oct. 3) for pediatric cancer.

However, because many U.S. schools restrict students from wearing ball caps to school, they may be getting themselves into trouble, but for a good cause.

Crystal Howard, a spokeswoman for one of the event’s partners, says schools have to participate in the day because, “We assume most kids aren’t allowed to wear caps to school.”

Although, she says, “We’d love it if it were a national day.”

Howard says roughly 30 schools were contacted about the day, and estimates about 35,000 students U.S.-wide will don caps on Monday.
