Chilean Actress Gets Chilly Reception For Czech Accent

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Chilean-born actress Cote de Pablo plays an Israeli terrorist expert on NCIS but she admits she got a chilly reaction when she first opened her mouth as the character.

De Pablo tried to do a Czech accent for her character, Ziva David, only to be told to drop it and stick with her natural voice.

Despite the disapproval, de Pablo hasn’t let the lack of vocal support get her down – and figures that’s why she was hired to be the show’s newest cast member.

As she puts it, “All I knew was they wanted someone who was very sure of herself professionally and who wouldn’t fall apart in a life-endangered situation.”

NCIS has its season premiere on Tuesday (Sept. 20) and de Pablo is already on a crash course to learn how to shoot a ..22, a .45 a .9 and to throw lots of knives because, in her words, “Ziva LOVES knives.”
