When It Comes To Proms, Teens Don’t Have The Vegas Idea

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to proms, teens don’t have the Las Vegas idea.

But promoters in Vegas do: They’re putting on an adult- themed prom on Labor Day (Sept. 5) that should put the “pro” in the word prom.

That’s because the first Annual Vegas Prom is meant to honor employees at various Vegas clubs, casinos and strip bars with all the festivities associated with high school proms – and a few that aren’t.

For example, organizer Bo Karlen says guests are expected to wear fancy dresses, tuxes and corsages and will vote on an official prom king and queen, but he also promises the punch will be spiked and says nobody will get separated by the gym teacher if they’re dirty dancing.

Karlen expects 2,000 people at the adult-oriented prom and figures more will arrive because, as he puts it, “There are 45 clubs in Vegas and on the average Monday, 40 of them are shut down.”
