Halloween Costume Hounds Already On The Trail

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Halloween is still months away, but that isn’t stopping fashionistas from figuring out which costumes will be hot this year.

According to costume experts at, 70 percent of Halloween shoppers begin their costume buying around this time of year, and already, they can predict which costumes will be hot.

Jalem Getz, spokesman for, says licensed costumes this year are more popular than any other year. That means a lot of men will be dressed as Pirates of the Caribbean’s Captain Jack Sparrow, Batman from Batman Begins and Darth Vader. In fact, the online retailer sells an $850 Vader outfit which they’ve sold out of twice so far.

Meanwhile, popular womens’ costumes will be Wonder Woman, Catwoman and a “Fallen Angel” costume that runs around $160.

Costumes for the Fantastic Four, Harry Potter and Willy Wonka will be hot with boys, while Barbie and an American Idol-themed costume are expected to hit big with girls.
