Meet The Tahitian Justin Timberlake

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Tahiti is known more for its sarongs than its singers but one French Polynesian guy hopes to change things.

His name is “Heiarii” – rhymes with “ferrari” – and he’s a 22-year-old entertainer from Tahiti who has eyes on becoming the Tahitian equivalent of Justin Timberlake.

Heiarii just released his first stateside CD, Dance!, which features a dance-pop version of the KISS hit, “I Was Made For Loving You” as well as some French- language songs.

However, like Timberlake, Heiarii has ambitions beyond being a teen idol. He says he wants his next CD to include more elements of his culture including cutting tracks with “oteira,” a type of Polynesian drum, and a guitar-like instrument called the “parima.”
