Safety Not Always First Concern For Americans

PITTSBURGH (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Lots of Americans engage in do-it-yourself projects, but safety isn’t always their first concern.

According to research by Kimberly-Clark, 51 percent prefer wearing grubby old clothes when working around the house rather than apparel designed to provide maximum safety and 20 percent say they’re not concerned about possible risks.

Not surprisingly, 34 percent of DIY’ers say “the end result” is more important than safety and seven percent say feeling comfortable is the top priority.

Finally, 52 percent of Americans say it’s important to know what you’re doing before starting a DIY project, but 13 percent think it’s smarter to simply hire a professional to do your dirty work instead.
