New CD Is Music To Patti Page’s Ears

SOLANA BEACH, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A new Patti Page collection hits stores today (May 10) and it’s music to the singer’s ears.

For Sentimental Reasons features some of Page’s best-known numbers in renditions that haven’t been heard in 50 years.

Page is one of the first singers who overdubbed her voice multiple times but because the recordings on the new CD are from her 1953 TV series they feature live renditions without her own harmonies.

She is happy with that because the performances have a live quality that is impossible to do in the studio where the overdubs have to match up with each other and, therefore, in her words, “sound more placid.”

But Page isn’t just living in the past. The 77-year-old singer has recorded four albums in the last four years and will soon be visiting Nashville to record a gospel CD.
