New Website Allows ‘Star Wars’ Fans To Thank George Lucas

NORFOLK, Va. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The release of the final installment of Star Wars is just a month away, but fans of the sci-fi series can start praising its creator now thanks to a new website.

ThankyouGeorge.com allows Star Wars fans from all over the world to write a letter to George Lucas expressing their gratitude to the man who built the multi-billion dollar movie franchise.

The site launched a few days ago and site co-founder Dan Madsen says it has already received dozens of letters including one from Mark Hamill, who thanks Lucas for “rekindling the childhood imaginations of those of all ages...”

Madsen has been president of The Official Star Wars/LucasFilm Fan Club for 13 years and hopes to obtain one million letters by summer and will put the affectionate notes into a bound copy that will be presented to Lucas later this year.

The letters can be of any length, but Madsen adds, “Obviously, we can’t have anyone writing a book.”
