Jason Parr has developed something called Pickup Hoops, which is a portable basketball goal that can attach to the back of a pickup truck.
The hoop sets up in less than 30 seconds and extends out from the pickup truck which serves as the base leaving at least four feet of room for baseline play and thus, minimizing the risk of crashing into the back of the truck.
Parr has already sold two of the portable hoops, but mainly rents them out for $75 an hour to folks, including the Michigan State basketball program.
Parr says he was inspired to create the hoop on wheels 10 years ago when he wanted to play ball with co-workers after work, but the closest court was 45 minutes away.
He figures the apparatus will allow ballers to play, anytime, anyplace, anywhere.
So far, Parr says people are going nuts for it and hes even in talks with companies to license the patent rights.
