Pet Sitting Not Sitting On Hands For Job Seekers

KING, N.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One of the fastest growing job markets in the U.S. isn’t in technology or health care, it’s in pet sitting.

That’s according to John Long, spokesman for Pet Sitters International, the world’s largest organization for professional pet sitters.

He says that more people are leaving corporate America to become pet sitters and believes the trend will “only get stronger.”

Long claims many people are realizing that the career can be lucrative and gives practitioners the freedom they normally wouldn’t have in a cubicle-infested office.

In addition, appreciation for the lovable sidekicks is increasing, Long says, and consequently, people are seeing them as an employment opportunity rather than a burden.

Professional Pet Sitter’s Week starts Sunday (March 6) and Long thinks the week will help bring “respect” and attention to the career and “show how professional it really is.”
