Thats according to John Long, spokesman for Pet Sitters International, the worlds largest organization for professional pet sitters.
He says that more people are leaving corporate America to become pet sitters and believes the trend will only get stronger.
Long claims many people are realizing that the career can be lucrative and gives practitioners the freedom they normally wouldnt have in a cubicle-infested office.
In addition, appreciation for the lovable sidekicks is increasing, Long says, and consequently, people are seeing them as an employment opportunity rather than a burden.
Professional Pet Sitters Week starts Sunday (March 6) and Long thinks the week will help bring respect and attention to the career and show how professional it really is.
