Velvet Revolver Helps Tour Mates Shoot Even Higher

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Touring with the veteran rockers of super-group Velvet Revolver can be a real education when you’re the member of an up-and-coming rock group.

Scott Stevens is the lead singer of the L.A.-based band, The Exies, which recently toured with Velvet Revolver, and he says the shows were a learning experience for his band.

Stevens says watching the rock super-group every night taught him “how to be assertive” in an arena environment.

After comparing Velvet Revolver’s performance to a videotape of the Exies, he realized that his band “looked really small on the stage.”

However, Stevens says Velvet Revolver bandmates like Slash and Scott Weiland taught his group “how to look larger on stage.”

Stevens won’t give himself a grade for his time in “Rock Star U.” but hopes to take the lessons he learned onto the next leg of the Exies’ tour, which begins Thursday (Feb. 10) in San Diego.
