Furbys Making A Comeback

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The fur will be flying in toy stores this year because Furby is making a comeback.

Furby has been around since 1998 but now Hasbro plans to release an “evolved” doll that speaks and understands English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese and Italian and is more emotional to boot.

Hasbro executive Allen Richardson says the new futuristic Furby uses something called “emoto-tronics” which combines voice recognition software with robotic technology to create a toy that is able to smile, frown and even gasp.

The toy also is able to move its belly in and out so it looks like it’s breathing.

Experts predict the new Furby will be a big hit when it’s released to stores later this year. Still, the technology isn’t perfect. Jokesters who want a truly interactive toy should note that the new Furby doesn’t understand or use curse words.
