Don't Go Gunning For A Zombie

Monday, March 22, 2010 17:32 GMT

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When the Apocalypse hits, don’t stick to your guns.

Though the tried and true method of zombie killing – destroying the brain – still stands, Roger Ma, author of The Zombie Combat Manual: A Guide To Fighting The Living Dead (Berkeley Books), says packing heat is actually the worst defense against the undead.

Although a gun is the fastest way to get the job done, he says many people either don’t own guns or have one handy at all times should a surprise zombie attack occur.

Also, guns eventually run out of ammo and attract even more zombies when they go off.

For this reason, Ma maps out the weapons, fighting techniques, and real life zombie encounters that people can learn from.

He assures that the best strategy in “neutralizing a zombie brain” is to attack from behind using accessible weapons, like crowbars, hammers, and ice picks, that are easy to handle.

Zombie Combat Manual saves lives April 6.
