Harlem Globetrotters Take Shot In The Dark
Special K Daley
Wednesday, March 10, 2010 17:15 GMT
PHILADELPHIA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) The heroic Harlem Globetrotters are about to cross over to the dark side.On Tuesday (Mar. 16), theyll play the first ever glow- in-the-dark basketball game for students at Mast Community Charter School in Philadelphia.
Theyll be transforming into the Crayola GLOWtrotters and taking on their rivals, the Washington Generals, with the lights off.
However, everything around the players will be glowing including their uniforms, basketballs, backboards, rims, and nets.
Globetrotter Special K Daley says his team will use their other senses like the sound of their sneakers and feel of the ball to guide them through the darkness.
He figures the glow will help them see plenty, or at least he hopes so, since hes a little afraid of the dark.
As a kid, he used to shoot hoops in the pitch black to sharpen his skills, so hes hoping that practice comes in handy.
Once their eyes adjust, his team will be unstoppable.
