SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Reuniting with old high school pals is easy when you’re shacking up in a teepee.The Wigwam Motel off Route 66 is a motel that features teepees as rooms.
Visitors lodge inside tricked out teepees that come stocked with cushy beds, bathrooms, and TVs.
Though it’s frequented by foreign tourists from places like Austria, Italy, and Japan, manager Kumar Patel says it’s also become an unlikely hotspot for high school reunions.
He says old classmates often book the entire motel for reunion parties, even hiring a DJ to spin as they boogie.
The unique motel – which has been around for 60 years – is also a hit with kids because it’s featured in the movie Cars.
And though the teepees are the perfect backdrop for a pretend game of “cowboys and indians,” Patel says folks don’t often get that wild in the wild west facility.
