Dogs Call Shots In `Man Sled Race'
Tuesday, March 2, 2010 17:16 GMT
Anchorage, Alaska (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) For once, dogs get to sit back, relax, and call the shots at an Alaskan sled race.Today (Mar. 2), Snausages brand treats will turn dog sled racing on its tail by holding the first ever Snausages Man Sled Race at Little Campbell Lake in Anchorage, Alaska.
Instead of pooches pulling the sleds, the roles will completely reverse as four teams of humans are put to work hauling sleds across 75 yards of snowy, frozen terrain.
Meanwhile, dogs will be sitting pretty atop the sleds, navigating the reins and bossing humans around for a change.
The first team to cross the finish line with Fido at the helm will win money for the pet charity of their choice.
Nobody will walk away empty-pawed, however, because Snausages will donate to organizations on behalf of the runners-up too.
The Man Sled Race honors the tight bond and fur- iendship shared between dogs and their mushers, only this time, pups have total power.
