Olympics No Place For Pole Dancers
Wednesday, February 24, 2010 19:35 GMT
YUMA, Ariz. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) Pole dancers should just forget about any gold medal dreams they may have.So says pole fitness impresario Edith Aboul-Hosn in reaction to the outcry from competitive pole dancers who feel their hobby should be included in the Olympics.
Although she believes pole dancing is just as tough as any other sport requiring strength, balance, and training its not any more special than other dancing.
She explains, Pole fitness is a beautiful art, but its not the only one. There are other amazing people who work just as hard at belly dancing or ballet. It takes just as much training so why should only pole fitness be in the Olympics?
Aboul-Hosn thinks an Olympic pole dancing event would attract any type of pole pro like skanky strippers and female bodybuilders.
She feels the sport should just stay in studios and continue to empower women to embrace their sexuality.
