The city population 2,000 has become a shrine to the jolly Red One, whos present in every way, shape, and form.
Ron Smith, president of the town board, says Santas are scattered everywhere at the post office, grocery stores, banks, local businesses, and Holiday World, their famous theme park.
St. Nicks range in size from tiny to tremendous, like a 20-foot-tall, 43-foot-wide waving Santa.
Kris Kringle is shown in many lights not just the classic depiction. Some display Santas are drinking beer, while one plays guitar, and another flies a helicopter.
Smith says local kids take living in Santa for granted during the holidays because for them, its Christmas year-round.
He, however, loves the reaction when he tells outsiders where hes from. They often double check the zip code to make sure hes serious.
