I Spy Santa...Everywhere

SANTA CLAUS, Ind. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – There’s no way to escape Santa in the tiny town of Santa Claus, Indiana.

The city – population 2,000 – has become a shrine to the jolly Red One, who’s present in every way, shape, and form.

Ron Smith, president of the town board, says Santas are scattered everywhere – at the post office, grocery stores, banks, local businesses, and Holiday World, their famous theme park.

St. Nicks range in size from tiny to tremendous, like a 20-foot-tall, 43-foot-wide waving Santa.

Kris Kringle is shown in many lights – not just the classic depiction. Some display Santas are drinking beer, while one plays guitar, and another flies a helicopter.

Smith says local kids take living in Santa for granted during the holidays because for them, it’s Christmas year-round.

He, however, loves the reaction when he tells outsiders where he’s from. They often double check the zip code to make sure he’s serious.
