The 10th annual Pirate Festival is happening now through Sunday (Dec. 6), and the scallywag gathering is as authentic as they come.
According to event organizer Julia McEnroe, the highlight is the Walk The Plank Championships, where folks in full-on pirate gear walk a plank into the high seas.
Victims are judged on the way they jump into the water, and many attempt to bribe judges with booty before taking the plunge.
Also on deck are the Most Buxom Wench and Bad Ass Pirate contests, where sea dogs compete to see who has the most impressive pirate get-up.
McEnroe says the costumes get pretty elaborate, since many attendees are professional pirate re-enactors.
Though the event is family-friendly, in true pirate form, it gets wilder at night.
McEnroe says, We cant be held responsible for anything that happens after 8 PM.
