Honk If You Love Parking Garages

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Parking garages aren’t just eyesores in a city.

The National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., is showing love to the buildings people tend to ignore the most – parking structures – with their exhibit House of Cars: Innovation and the Parking Garage.

Spokesperson Johanna Weber says people rarely stop to think about what parking garages mean to cities and the people that drive around them looking for a spot.

Through the exhibit, which features photos and blueprints of amazingly constructed parking structures, Weber hopes people will see these supposed eyesores as a showcase for innovation.

Many are well-designed, serve a function, and add a “creative tapestry” to urban environments.

Not only that, many of the world’s most famed architects have gotten their start designing parking structures, so it’s a chance to see the early works of design greats.
