David K. Smith is an average Joe from Toms River, New Jersey, who has a special talent for building working model trains in minuscule sizes.
Smith, a model train builder for 40 years, uploaded a video of himself making a choo-choo no more than an inch tall using only tweezers, a knife, and a pair of reading glasses.
As a result, hes become an online sensation, garnering 200,000 hits on YouTube.
He says, It just exploded. I havent come across anyone else who can build models as small as I do.
Though many have marveled at the video on the Internet, Smith says he doesnt get as much respect from his fellow model builders.
He laughs, I get more friendly derision from them than building a fan club for me.
