According to data from hitwise.com, the bizarre case of the six-year-old’s fake balloon ride has really taken off as a popular online search.
Last week, at the height of the saga, searches soared for “Balloon Boy” related news.
The top terms leading the searches included “balloon boy,” “boy in balloon,” and “balloon boy hoax.”
It also appears people were interested in watching little Falcon puke his guts out during his appearances on Good Morning America and The Today Show, as “balloon boy throws up” and “balloon boy & ‘today’” were also highly popular searches.
The websites receiving the most traffic from “Balloon Boy” searches were Google News, CNN.com, Yahoo! News, The Huffington Post, MSNBC, inphotos.org, and YouTube – where videos of Falcon barfing and the entire Heene Family can be found.
