Halloween Costumes: Vampires In, Nurses Out

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to this year’s Halloween costumes, vampires are in and nurses are out.

According to a survey from the National Retail Federation, 47 million adults and 58 million kids across America plan to dress up for Halloween this year.

Witches nab the top spot for adult costumes with 18.1 percent and vampires follow with 4.2 percent. Other popular adult get-ups include pirates, clowns, and cats.

Nurses have been bumped down drastically in the popular costume list, while political figures didn’t even make the cut.

This may show that Americans want to forget about politics – even if only for one night.

Meanwhile, the top kids’ costumes include princesses – about 4.5 million of them will flood the streets – witches, 1.3 million Spider-Men, and a million pirates, pumpkins, and vampires.

The top pet costumes are pumpkins, devils, fancy bowties, witches, and Superdog or Supercat.
