‘Mercy’ Nurse: Real Life Mary Poppins

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Before becoming a TV nurse, one actress moonlighted as a real life Mary Poppins.

Taylor Schilling, who plays Nurse Veronica Callahan in the new drama series, Mercy, was a nanny for a four-year- old toddler right at the time she scored the leading TV role.

When she told her employers about the network offer, they were “thrilled” and very supportive of her quitting to take the role.

She explains, “It’s a great reason to not be able to do the job.”

But while Schilling considers her TV gig as exciting “as Christmas,” she still misses her nanny duties sometimes.

She keeps in contact with the family and adds, “I miss that kid. He’s really cute.”

Her resume is loaded with Mary Poppins skills, since she was also a nanny for two families the entire four years she was in college.

Mercy premieres tomorrow (Sep. 23) on NBC.
