Artist Travels And Paints With Google

BURKESVILLE, Ky. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – There’s no need to travel to the French countryside to paint the scenery when Google can take you there.

Artist Bill Guffey can’t afford to travel to paint the ancient cathedrals in Rome or Maine seaside in person, so he visits the places online.

His “Google Street View Painting Series” features paintings of the most beautiful spots in the world which he was able to witness using Google Street View.

Guffey says he likes visiting the south of France and Maine the most through his computer and would love to actually go to the places he’s immortalized in oils in person someday and paint them again.

He says, “I’d like to see if there’s a difference.”

Guffey believes all artists, particularly those who are disabled, can benefit from using Google Street View for their work because it “really opens up the world to artists that are stuck in their homes or hospitals.”
