Simple Things Scare Monster Hunter

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For one TV monster hunter, finding creepy creatures isn’t even the scariest part of the job.

Josh Gates searches for the unexplained like the Yeti, Chupacabra, aliens, and ghosts in Destination Truth, debuting its new season tomorrow (Sep. 9) on SyFy.

Though lurking in forests looking for Bigfoot can be frightening, Gates is more scared of wildlife that already exists, like tigers, snakes, and spiders that sometimes show up in the middle of filming.

Gates and his crew have had a few “close calls” with creepy crawlies that made them jump.

As if worrying about monsters and wild animals weren’t enough, Gates has also had some technical difficulties on location.

While exploring overseas, the crew usually uses “very old, well-used,” rickety vehicles that make for scary traveling.

They nearly crashed a tiny plane once over a forest in Romania, and Gates admits he thought that was their “last and final episode.”
