Chickens Better Pets Than Pups?

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Man’s best friend should be a chicken, not a dog.

Taking care of a dog or cat can be hard work, which is why Traci Torres of MyPetChicken.com – a website that supplies everything needed to adopt a chicken – says owning a clucker is the best bet for animal lovers.

Unlike dogs who bark loudly and destroy furniture when left alone, Torres says chickens are independent creatures who are quieter and happier being left to their own devices for days at a time, so long as there’s food, water, and plenty of room for them to run around.

A pet chicken also gives gifts in return in the form of eggs that are so good, “you never want to eat eggs at a restaurant again.”

Chickens also keep gardens looking gorgeous by fertilizing land with their poop and eating bugs.

If the idea of a garden full of chicken crap isn’t appealing, Torres says she’s heard of owners potty training their birds.
