Woodstock Is Back, Minus The Hallucinogens

COSTA MESA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Woodstock is happening all over again this weekend (Aug. 15-16) – minus the psychedelic drugs.

The Orange County Marketplace in Costa Mesa, California, is hosting a groovy Woodstock tribute event to mark the 40th anniversary of the historical music and arts fest of 1969.

The event will feature tie-dye vendors and folks dressed in hippie gear as well as tribute bands like The Summer Of Love, who do various costume changes and impersonations of Woodstock legends like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Arlo Guthrie on stage.

Organizer Jill Lloyd says the family-friendly event promotes peace, love, and happiness for people enduring today’s tough times, but will be “more tame” than actual Woodstock.

Unlike the famous fest, Lloyd doesn’t anticipate any mud pits popping up or folks trippin’ on hallucinogens.

More than anything, it’s a chance for kids and parents to rock out together to classic rock.
