Can Harry Potter Slay Batman?

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – In a fierce showdown, it appears teen wizard Harry Potter may take down Batman – at least at the box office.

According to Fandango.com, the nation’s leading movie- ticketing destination, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince could take the opening day crown from last summer’s blockbuster, The Dark Knight.

The highly-anticipated Harry Potter flick – out tomorrow (Jul. 15) – accounts for 96 percent of daily ticket sales on Fandango, making it the company’s third biggest advance ticket-seller.

Harry Medved, of Fandango, says it’s on track to match or surpass The Dark Knight, and figures the film’s PG rating opens it up to a wider family audience.

Additionally, the sixth Harry Potter movie is giving Twilight a run for its money.

It’s already outpaced the vampire flick in advanced ticket sales, and 67 percent of movie buffs have dubbed leading lady Emma Watson a sexier heroine than Twilight’s Kristen Stewart.
