Stressed Out Kids Head To Special Camp

WESTMINSTER, Md. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A foot rub and some meditation can do wonders for a stressed out child.

Massage therapist Sheri Mincher is doing her best to help relieve kids from stress with her Stress Busters Camps in Westminster, Maryland.

Mincher helps kids with too much on their plate – such as a demanding academic life and family troubles – deal with their tension.

She also helps special needs children deal with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other social issues.

During her five-week camp – which includes tykes as young as five – Mincher uses stretches, deep breathing, visual exercises, and relaxing hand and foot massages to help kids wind down.

She says, “Kids feet take a lot abuse. They’re always on the go. The feet have so many acupressure points that stimulate organs in the body, so it’s very relaxing.”

By teaching children how to identify and deal with stress, Mincher says they learn to cope with challenges for the rest of their life.
