Luckily for Jim Schauf, theyre molds of the large-scale fiberglass statues he builds under his company FAST: Fiberglass Animals, Shapes, And Trademarks Corp., which creates the mascots businesses use to lure in customers.
Since Schauf has had to build a mold for every sculpture hes made, including famous roadside attractions like Bobs Big Boy figures and a 200-foot-long sea monster for a Wisconsin museum, its left his lawn littered with hundreds of strange molds.
They dont bother him at all, however, because his molds have made America the kitschy place that it is.
Schauf says, Most people think that this stuff out here is junk. They dont realize its the real lifeblood of the country.
But those who do appreciate his work even take bus tours to his yard.
