Circus Freaks Open Wallets

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The best way to get a charitable donation is by freaking people out.

At least that’s the angle organizers of San Diego’s Red Ball are taking.

The Red Ball is a fundraising event happening tomorrow (Jun. 13) to benefit the SUSHI Center For The Urban Arts, which just moved to a new location and needs help to finish developing the space.

To get attendees to feel generous and donate, SUSHI has decided to put together freaky, circus sideshow entertainment in the Steampunk style, which consists of dark, Victorian outfits with a futuristic twist.

Spokesperson Jackie Hall says the event has the potential to be “a little freakish,” but hopefully that will put people in a giving mood.

She adds, “If freaking them out makes them open their wallet, then it’s worth it. We really try to give people more bang for their buck.”

Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in red, or in Steampunk fashion.
