Artist Folds Masterpieces From Paper

BERLIN (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An artist in Germany is leaving a paper trail with his unique work – literally.

To Simon Schubert, a sheet of plain white paper is much more than just something to write on or fold into a paper airplane and toss out.

Instead, he makes eye-popping masterpieces entirely out of paper by folding it into amazing optical illusions that take the form of life-like objects and areas, including intricate staircases, grandiose estate homes, and beautiful hallways that have mirrored images hanging on their fake walls.

Though skeptics have accused the artist of cheating and using other means to create the incredible images, Schubert assures that his artwork is 100 percent paper.

He explains, “Many of them think I’ve used paint or pencil to create the effect of light and shade. But when they realize the pictures are actually folded paper, they are quite impressed.”
