Harvard Is A Media Magnet

AUSTIN, Texas (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The smarties over at Harvard have yet another thing to add to their long list of accolades.

According to a trend study by the Global Language Monitor, the prestigious institution is the No. 1 university in the media.

The analysis ranked the nation’s top 100 colleges and universities according to their appearance in the global print and electronic media, as well as the Internet and blogosphere.

Turns out Harvard gets the most buzz in the press, closely followed by Columbia University, Chicago University, Michigan University, Stanford, Cornell, Princeton, Yale, and University of California, Berkeley.

The top liberal arts colleges in the news are Colorado College, Williams College, and Amherst, and other universities getting constant media mention are CalTech, Emory, and Boston.

Researchers say that despite a year of financial and political overload in the news, the “primacy of college brands” remains a strong and steady constant in the press.
