Reality Reject Not Just A Troublemaking Gay

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – There’s more to one reality racer than being a loudmouth homosexual.

People who know outspoken, 68-year-old gay activist and clergyman Mel White now have a whole new perspective on him thanks to his recent stint on The Amazing Race.

Mel appeared with his son, Hollywood producer Mike White on the show, though they were both eliminated this past Sunday (Mar. 29).

However, since his departure, Mel says he’s become “the biggest guy in my neighborhood,” signing autographs for young fans and living like “a big fish in a little pond,” which is far cry from what he was before.

He says, “People have been able to see me with my son [on Amazing Race] and not just as the troublemaking gay always causing everyone to feel uncomfortable.”

The race didn’t just change life for Mel.

Mike says the adventure has taught him to use his imagination more and to “get out of the boring everyday routine.”

Amazing Race airs Sundays on CBS.
