It Doesn’t Always Pay To Fly

CHOCKTAW, Okla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Being a flight attendant has its disadvantages when racing around the world.

For professional air hostesses Jodi Wincheski and Christie Volkmer, knowing their way around an airport didn’t always come in handy while competing on The Amazing Race, and led to their elimination this past Sunday (Mar. 22).

Wincheski says, “Being flight attendants, I don’t think we had an advantage. We fly for Southwest which is only in the United States. We usually have a van pick us up and take us to our hotel. We never deal with ticket counters or security.”

Adds Volkmer, “It was probably a bigger disadvantage for us.”

While jetting the world, the contestants did notice how foreign flight attendants passed out peanuts and critiqued their stewardess style.

Volkmer says, “We’d be like, ‘She’s not very friendly.’ Most of the flight attendants worked pretty hard though.”

Says Wincheski: “They gave us extra sandwiches when we asked for them.”

The Amazing Race airs Sundays on CBS.
