MeMe Roth of National Action Against Obesity wants cookie cravers to stop buying treats from Girl Scout troops because the sweets are bad for your health.
She explains, Girl Scouts promote harmful substances as a fundraiser. They start selling mid-January because theyre counting on an already bloated nation to give up their diets.
Folks can take part in Roths cookie crusade by rejecting soliciting Scouts and telling them youre jut trying to stay healthy.
She also says giving money to the tiny troops is a better way to go, since only 60 cents from every box of cookies actually goes to the local Girl Scouts.
By donating $1, local Scouts would nearly double their profits theyd get from selling one lousy box of cookies.
And for those still tempted to buy a box of Thin Mints, Roth has a warning: Anything that has chemicals in it to increase its shelf life will decrease your shelf life.
