‘Biggest Loser’ Eliminee Trained By Tough Kids

WHEATON, Ill. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One formerly fat grandad is getting whipped into shape by a few fit kids.

Though he was the first contestant to be voted of The Biggest Loser: Couples this past Tuesday (Jan. 13), 63-year- old retired grandpa Jerry Hayes has still maintained a healthy exercise regimen, and he has his grandkids to thank for it.

He says, “I used to take them places but I’d just sit on the bench. Now I’m more active so they expect me to be doing things with them and make me do it.”

With the help of his fun-loving grandkids, a steady diet, and a personal trainer, Hayes has dropped 96 pounds.

And his new healthy lifestyle hasn’t affected his grandkids’ snacking.

He explains, “We get the grandkids stuff to eat, but only for them. We make sure to have vanilla milk for them.”

Hayes assures that he’s “not tempted too much” by the tasty treats and instead snacks on yogurt and fruit.

The Biggest Loser airs Tuesdays on NBC.
