Christmas Is Sweeter In Santa Claus, Indiana

SANTA CLAUS, Ind. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Santa Claus has a special place in his heart for the folks in Santa Claus, Indiana.

It’s hard for Santa not to pick favorites, especially when he flies into Santa Claus, Indiana, on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), because as Ron Smith, president of the town board, says, “It’s Christmas everyday here!”

He adds, “You drive through the town and there’s Santa Clauses everywhere; at the post office, grocery store, travel agency. That’s why the real Santa has a soft spot for us.”

The entire town is decorated year round with bright lights, candy canes, and Christmas trees, but Smith assures it doesn’t make Christmas Day any less of a celebration.

He says, “Santa Claus is just a special place, but it gets a little more special on Christmas. People open up their homes and businesses even more. It’s an awfully friendly town.”

Smith thinks Santa loves the tiny town so much, he treats local boys and girls to extra nice gifts and recommends that those hoping to get the royal treatment from St. Nick move to Santa Claus.
